Accessibility & printing

Reading, keyboard navigation, mobile use and printable worksheets on Bath Renting Guide, with honest testing limits.

Bath Renting Guide is built around readable text, ordinary links and practical tools that can be used without an account. This page describes the features included in the application; it is not a claim of a certified accessibility audit.

Reading and navigation

  • A Skip to content link is available at the start of each ordinary page.
  • Headings, breadcrumbs and an on-page contents list help you move through long guides.
  • Links and controls have visible keyboard focus. Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between controls, and Enter or Space as appropriate to activate them.
  • The mobile navigation opens with a labelled menu control. Main content and directory entries remain in the HTML when JavaScript is unavailable.
  • Text can be enlarged with browser zoom. Wide comparison tables have their own horizontal scrolling region rather than forcing the whole page wider.

Tools and JavaScript

The rental budget calculator and directory filter use a small local script. Input controls have visible labels; errors and results are announced in a status region. The viewing tool keeps “not checked” distinct from an observed concern or a question.

If scripts are unavailable, the tool pages still explain the calculation method and provide blank tables that can be printed and filled in by hand. A tool result is not a property inspection or compliance verdict.

Printing

Use the Print this page button or your browser’s print command. Print styling removes navigation and decorative elements, keeps worksheet labels and makes typed notes visible. On a long comparison, landscape paper orientation may be easier to read. Save as PDF through the browser if you want a local copy.

Motion and appearance

Animations are limited to brief interface transitions, and reduced-motion preferences are respected. Colour is supplemented by text labels. The site uses local assets and system fonts, so reading does not depend on an external font or tracking service.

Testing and limits

The completed build is checked for representative mobile and desktop layouts, keyboard use, heading structure, horizontal overflow and tool behaviour. Automated checks cannot establish access for every assistive technology or individual requirement. No blanket WCAG certification or first-hand screen-reader assessment is claimed.

There is currently no public accessibility-reporting inbox. Contact & help states the actual correspondence arrangements. If a source website presents an access barrier, use that organisation’s own accessibility or contact route; this publication cannot change its interface.
